Data protection for websites and web stores is an important part of a data protection concept. The information on the online presence is, by its very nature, publicly visible to all interested parties. It is therefore important to ensure that there are no exposed data protection errors here. Because these can be warned quickly and legally.
We are also happy to develop a new, privacy-compliant website or webshop together with you. Here we rely on the CMS (content management system) WordPress which has a high degree of distribution (about 30% of all websites worldwide run on this system) and is easy to use.
Likewise, the system can also be subsequently expanded to a store system with manageable effort and integrated into the already existing WordPress website.
Unfortunately, there is still a lot of uncertainty regarding the legally compliant implementation of websites and webshops. This is due to the e-Privacy Regulation which should have been active at the same time as the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). However, this was postponed to the end of 2019 - beginning of 2020. In the e-Privacy Regulation, all relevant points for the online sector are to be regulated.
This includes, for example, the use of cookies and the resulting information obligations. Questions also arise, for example, about the use of tracking tools such as Google Analytics or the legally compliant use of web fonts.
Even if the e-privacy regulation comes later, there are some things that can and must be implemented now for a web presence that complies with the data protection law. Warnings are annoying and also unnecessary if companies build their online presence according to current data protection knowledge.
